Shreem Electric's SHR-SVG is a next generation Static VAR Generator that provides real-time, stepless reactive power compensation using a 3 level IGBT inverter topology. It acts as a controlled voltage source connected in shunt with the grid and, based on CT and PT feedback, injects leading or lagging current to bring the power factor close to unity for inductive, capacitive or unbalanced loads. With a dynamic response time of 100 µs, a correction time of 10 ms, internal losses below 2.5% and an LCL filter that prevents ripple injection into the grid, it also offers load balancing, HT or LT side correction and, in the SHR-SVG Plus version, harmonic mitigation from the 2nd to the 15th order. Operating at 400 V or 440 V (±10%), the modules are rated 30, 50, 75 and 100 kVAr and can be stacked and paralleled up to 500 kVAr with a single HMI, in cabinet or wall mounted designs with IP31 protection and forced air cooling. Communication is through CAN bus, RS-485 Modbus and cloud connectivity, and it is well suited for steel, mining, cement, textile, sugar and rice mills, metro rail, ports, windmills and solar plants, data centers, hospitals, malls, and induction and arc furnaces.
