HYBRID PFC (SHR-hSPC)
ENGINEERING DESCRIPTION
Shreem Electric's Hybrid PFC (SHR-hSPC) is a real-time power factor correction system that combines an active IGBT based inverter module (SVG) with a passive APFC section of contactor or thyristor switched, detuned capacitor steps (up to 14 steps), giving stepless, fast and smooth reactive power correction. A centralized high speed DSP hybrid controller with line side CT and PT feedback controls both parts: the detuned capacitor bank compensates the major portion of the reactive demand, while the active module fills the small gaps between steps (window filling correction) on both the lag and lead side, so there is no under or over compensation. Compared to a conventional APFC panel, it offers stepless and bidirectional correction, a response time of 100 µs and correction time of 10 ms, load unbalance and neutral current correction, harmonic mitigation as per the rated active capacity, lower capacitor switching and lower maintenance. Operating at 440 V (±10%), 50 Hz, 3P-4W with IP3X/4X protection and a design temperature of 0 to 45°C, it features a 7 inch touch screen HMI that works as a power quality analyzer with a 15-channel oscilloscope, a built-in no-load compensation feature, the ability to integrate with an existing capacitor panel, and remote monitoring over CAN bus or internet via Wi-Fi. It is a cost effective solution for reducing kVAh billing and is suited for foundries, cement, steel, chemical, food processing, textile, paper, mining, oil and gas, automotive and plastic industries, as well as ports, data centers, hospitals, metro and rail stations, malls, office buildings, water treatment plants, and solar plants and wind mills.
