Shreem Electric's APP (all polypropylene) film capacitors are heavy duty film and foil capacitors designed for fixed and automatic power factor correction and for tuned and detuned filters, and are especially recommended for high temperature environments such as foundries and steel industries. Each unit is housed in a high grade steel tank with epoxy moulded bushings to avoid leakage, and uses oil impregnation with better thermal conductivity and higher viscosity for improved heat handling. The design offers the highest inrush current withstanding capacity, is well suited to supertropical conditions like India, and has a life expectancy of 250,000 hours. Built to IS 13585-2012 and IEC 60931-1-1996, the range covers 5 to 50 kVAr at 415 V and 440 V, 50 Hz, and can handle 1.5 times rated current, with power loss below 0.5 W/kVAr and capacitance tolerance of -5% to +7%. The capacitors are protected by internal or external fuses and use externally fitted discharge resistors that bring the voltage down to 75 V within 3 minutes.
