Shreem Electric's LVAS-T is a dynamic power factor correction system (TSC) that uses thyristor (SCR) switching to correct power factor instantly in applications with rapidly changing loads. Because the capacitors are switched with zero voltage switching under intelligent electronic control, the switching is smooth, surgeless and transient free, so it does not disturb sensitive networks or nearby equipment and does not limit the number of switching operations, which extends the life of system components. The panel works at 415 V to 750 V, 3 phase, 50/60 Hz, with up to 16 stages, and each step uses a thyristor module with SCR, heat sink and firing module, along with line chokes for di/dt protection and optional detuned filter reactors. Low wattage free wheeling resistors across the series reactor reduce insulation stress on the RLC circuit. It can be supplied with all polypropylene (APP) film and foil capacitors or metallised polypropylene (MPP) capacitors in delta or star connection. The metal cabinet is powder coated for indoor use (IP4X) with a forced cooling fan, an MCCB, ACB or SFU incomer, and an operating temperature of -5°C to +45°C. Ideal applications include the automobile and steel industries, textile, cement, ceramic, sugar and refinery plants, wind mills, escalators, elevators, conveyors, multiplexes, commercial buildings, offshore drilling and harbour cranes. The system complies with IEC 61439 Parts 1 and 2, IEC 61921 and IS 8623, and is offered in standard sizes from 150 to 1000 kVAr, with custom sizes and ratings available on request.
